A Romantic Tulsa Catholic Wedding at Christ the King & The Gateway Event Center

There was something so deeply intentional about Abby & Tiger’s wedding day from beginning to end. Their romantic Tulsa Catholic wedding centered around a Traditional Latin Mass at Parish of Christ the King in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and every part of the day felt rooted in beauty, reverence, and joy. From the rosaries and florals during the detail photos to the motorcycle getaway and eclectic reception downtown, this day was such a perfect mix of sacred tradition and fun personality. You could feel how important the sacrament of marriage was to these two. While also seeing how much they genuinely enjoyed celebrating with their people. Honestly, this wedding was such a dream to photograph!

A Romantic Tulsa Catholic Wedding with a Traditional Latin Mass

One of my favorite parts of Abby & Tiger’s wedding day was getting to document a Traditional Latin Mass. If you’ve never attended one before, it’s incredibly beautiful and reverent. Unlike a typical Novus Ordo nuptial Mass where the marriage rite usually happens later in the liturgy. The marriage rite during a Traditional Latin Mass happens at the beginning before Mass is celebrated. The entire Mass being in Latin created such a timeless atmosphere inside Parish of Christ the King. Between the warm brick tones of the church, the candlelight, the incense, and the quiet emotion throughout the ceremony, every moment felt so intentional and sacred.

I also loved how personal the details of their day felt. Abby’s florals brought in these soft, romantic garden-inspired colors while still feeling classic and timeless against the traditional setting of the church. Their portraits inside the sanctuary felt straight out of another era in the best possible way. The veil, the soft light, the architecture of the church, it all came together so naturally. One of my favorite moments to photograph was the two of them standing together at the altar after Mass looking so happy and relieved and excited all at once!

Why The Gateway Event Center Is Such a Fun Tulsa Wedding Venue

After the ceremony, everyone headed over to The Gateway Event Center for the reception. And honestly… this venue is a photographer’s dream. It’s tucked right in the heart of Tulsa just minutes from downtown and several Catholic churches. Which makes logistics for wedding days super easy. The outside of the building is covered in murals while the inside has this eclectic urban brick feel with chandeliers hanging throughout the space that the owner collected from estate sales and thrift shops over the years. It somehow feels vintage, artsy, industrial, and cozy all at the same time.

The lighting inside this venue is so good too. The natural light pouring into the space mixed with the warm brick and funky decor gave everything such a fun atmosphere without feeling overly trendy. Every direction you turned had something visually interesting to photograph. From the colorful florals on the tables to the movement on the dance floor. The entire reception felt lively and welcoming in a way that matched Abby & Tiger perfectly.

The Motorcycle Exit & Chug Bug Reception Entrance Were Amazing

Okay… the motorcycle getaway from the church into their reception entrance may have been one of the coolest things I’ve photographed at a wedding in a while. It was unexpected, fun, and completely fit their vibe. Guests were loving it. And it added such a playful energy to the day after the more solemn beauty of the Mass. Those kinds of moments are always my favorite because they make a wedding feel so uniquely personal to the couple instead of just following a template.

And then there was the Chug Bug at the reception. Which is basically a late 60s/early 70s Volkswagen Beetle turned party vehicle. It immediately became one of the most talked about parts of the reception space. Between that, the motorcycle entrance, the funky vintage chandeliers, and everyone dancing under the warm lights of the venue, the entire evening felt like this really perfect blend of meaningful tradition and joyful celebration. Abby & Tiger truly created a wedding day that felt completely like them.
