Catholic Wedding Photos From Emma & Max’s Colorado Wedding

From the moment I first chatted with Emma and Max, I knew their wedding day was going to be something truly special. Their love for each other, their people, and their faith shone through in every detail, and their wedding weekend in Colorado Springs felt like one big celebration of all of it! As a Catholic wedding photographer who travels all over the U.S. to document faith-filled celebrations, it’s days like these that remind me why I do what I do. If you’re searching for inspiration for your own Catholic wedding photos you’re in for a treat!

A Catholic Wedding Weekend Filled With Intention

I first met Emma & Max through our shared Catholic community, and I instantly knew they were something special. They met in a Bible study back home in Utah, and all their friends from that group traveled in to witness their wedding. That alone says so much about who they are: devoted, welcoming, and surrounded by people who love them dearly! Emma and Max’s wedding weekend began on the Fourth of July with a sweet and casual rehearsal BBQ at their reception venue. The most memorable part was they opened the floor for anyone to give a speech. So many people got up to share stories, encouragement, and love for this couple. It set the tone for everything that followed! The next day they celebrated their wedding Mass at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Emma’s childhood parish!

The Beauty of Catholic Wedding Photos During Mass

Catholic wedding Masses are filled with so much reverence, symbolism, and beauty! It’s why so many of my couples specifically search for a photographer who understands the meaning of a Catholic wedding. One of the most powerful moments during Emma and Max’s wedding was the stained glass light pouring through the sanctuary as they presented flowers to Mary. It was one of those quiet, glowing, holy moments that makes Catholic wedding photography feel like such a gift! After Mass, we captured all the formal family portraits in front of the altar before heading into the Colorado sunshine for more dreamy Catholic wedding photos.

Sunset Portraits in Ute Valley Park

Emma and Max really wanted those classic Colorado wedding portraits with mountain views and Ute Valley Park did NOT disappoint. The light hit just right on her veil, and I’m still not over how good her veil looked as it floated in the wind. Their portraits are some of my favorites I’ve ever taken. There’s just something about Catholic wedding photos that are rooted in both tradition and adventure, it’s honestly the best combination!

A Joyful Reception at Saint Gabriel the Archangel

After portraits, we made our way to their reception at another local parish, Saint Gabriel the Archangel, which had just completed a gorgeous new expansion. The space was full of natural light and had a balcony view that gave us the most insane sunset light. Right as the evening wrapped up, we snuck outside for a few final sunset portraits with that summer golden glow and a few light raindrops. I can’t think of a better way to close out a Catholic wedding weekend in Colorado!
