Whimsical Summer Spain Ranch Wedding 

There’s something so magical about a wedding where the couple leans fully into who they are. Emilee & Chris’ Spain Ranch celebration was colorful, joyful, and so them! From the wildflower-filled ceremony to a surprise DeLorean moment that literally still makes me grin just thinking about it. Spain Ranch is one of my favorite places to photograph as a Tulsa wedding photographer and this summer wedding under the sycamore tree was a total dream! The whole day also felt like a love letter to wildflowers, fandoms, and the people they love most!

Why I Love Spain Ranch – A Wedding Venue Tucked Away in Nature

If you’re looking for a wedding venue tucked away in nature but still close to Tulsa, Spain Ranch is it. It has two gorgeous barns, one white, one black, and Emilee & Chris chose the White Barn, which was perfect for their bright, wildflower-filled summer celebration. The natural light in there is unreal, and the clean, minimal space makes it so easy to customize and bring your own vibe.

The venue also has a peaceful little sycamore grove that makes the perfect outdoor ceremony spot. It feels secluded and whimsical like you’ve stepped into a little forest clearing made just for you. Plus, it’s only a few minutes from my house, so it’s extra close to my heart!

Whether you’re planning a colorful summer wedding like Emilee & Chris or something more minimalist and moody, Spain Ranch gives you a blank canvas to create something!

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony at Spain Ranch

The day started with Emilee and Chris getting ready separately before sharing a sweet first look. And after the first look Emilee surprised Chris with a DeLorean (!!!) that rolled up, driven by none other than Doc Brown. Chris literally shouted, “This is the best day of my life!” It was such a fun, unforgettable moment that totally set the tone for the rest of the day. After that, we made our way to the ceremony under the iconic sycamore tree, which Emilee and Chris had decked out in the dreamiest wildflower florals that looked like something straight out of a storybook.

Those blooms were the perfect mix of sunflowers, color, and texture. Additionally, the green ferns down the aisle added such a woodsy, enchanted vibe, and I was obsessed with how they repurposed the florals later for the reception.

Hot summer weddings in Oklahoma can be no joke, but these two were prepared! They had fans, waters, and plenty of shade for their guests and it made such a difference. So if you are planning a summer wedding at Spain Ranch Pro tip: always have comfort options for your people during an outdoor ceremony.

Whimsical Indoor Reception

Emilee & Chris’ reception was full of intentional little details. Their tablescape was a maximalist dream: moss table runners, wildflower bud vases, custom signage featuring nods to Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and more. Their goblets even had a tree of life design, I mean, come on! Every corner had something fun and thoughtful to discover.

Emilee & Chris reminded me why I love being a Tulsa wedding photographer. When a couple creates a day that reflects their personality, values, and passions, It’s truly unforgettable! And when I get to photograph it on film at a dreamy venue like Spain Ranch? That’s the good stuff!
