Elizabeth and John’s Nuptial Mass at St. Thomas More University Parish

Their celebration began at St. Thomas More University Parish, the Catholic parish on OU’s campus in Norman, Oklahoma. This church is already close to my heart, and to photograph a couple entering into the sacrament of matrimony in such a sacred space was truly special! One of my absolute favorite moments from the day was watching Elizabeth walk down the aisle. It was truly a show-stopping entrance! And that cathedral-length veil? It deserves its own spotlight! Her mom handmade it, which made the moment even more special and emotional. Such a beautiful, meaningful detail that I’ll never forget.

One of the most powerful images from the ceremony was the priest raising the Eucharist above the couple at the altar. This is the most requested photo from my Catholic couples, and I can see why! It’s such a visual representation of Christ at the center of the marriage. Moments like this are why I love what I do. The rest of the Mass was just as meaningful, sentimental, sacred, and full of love.

The Reception at Jimmie Austin Golf Club

Their reception at Jimmie Austin Golf Club was the perfect mix of elevated and fun. Colorful summer florals with pops of pink and yellow brought in all the playful, warm-weather energy, and guests were greeted with the most fun surprises. Fans, flip-flops, LED wands, and even custom sunglasses for the dance floor! The Royal Dukes Band absolutely brought the house down, live music makes such a difference in creating an electric atmosphere. They also had lawn games like cornhole and putting greens, and a cigar roller from Miami that had everyone lining up. Talk about a guest experience! They also worked with so many amazing Catholic vendors, from Pieta Paperie for their invitation suite to a Catholic-owned perfume brand. I love when couples intentionally seek out vendors who understand the sacredness of the sacrament. It adds an extra layer of care and meaning to the whole day.

This wedding was the perfect example of how a holy and meaningful wedding day can also be wildly fun and full of life! Every piece of Elizabeth and John’s day reminded me why I love being a Catholic wedding photographer in Oklahoma.
