Moody and Editorial Catholic Wedding Ideas at WA Frost

Looking for the perfect Catholic wedding ideas or decorations to bring a sense of beauty to your special day? Let me take you through an incredibly inspiring experience that I had at the Wildflowers Retreat this April, where we celebrated all things Catholic in a gorgeous styled shoot. The location, the details, and the vendor team all came together to create an unforgettable atmosphere. I couldn’t wait to share with you! Keep scrolling and see why I love this day and location so much!

The Setting: WA Frost Restaurant in St. Paul, Minnesota

I was beyond excited when I attended the Wildflowers Retreat, a gathering of Catholic women in the wedding industry. The retreat focused on connecting and celebrating our shared love for weddings, and we had the chance to photograph two incredible styled shoots. The first, titled “Moody Renaissance,” took place at the stunning WA Frost restaurant in St. Paul, Minnesota. Additionally, this gorgeous venue full of old-world charm and artistic detail was an absolute dream for this shoot. The soft, moody light filtering through the windows paired with the greenery created a one-of-a-kind, editorial wedding vibe.

If you’re planning a Catholic wedding and looking for a venue that brings together beauty, tradition, and a touch of art, WA Frost is an amazing choice. It’s truly a perfect fit for a Catholic wedding, whether you’re celebrating your rehearsal dinner or hosting your reception there. The venue has multiple areas for portraits, making it ideal for capturing those intimate moments that matter most on your wedding day!

Catholic Wedding Ideas and the Details That Stood Out

As a Catholic wedding photographer, one of my absolute favorite things to photograph is Catholic wedding details. And let me tell you, this shoot was a dream come true! From the rosaries in the detail shots to the Marian necklace and earrings the bride wore, it was clear that this styled shoot was crafted with intentionality and thoughtfulness. I also loved how the bridal accessories reflected the couple’s faith, making the overall atmosphere feel even more personal and sacred!

One of the standout moments from the shoot was the ring shot, which was captured in a pear! It’s such a unique idea, and I couldn’t help but love how it turned out. Plus, the florals added so much life to the photos. The florals, combined with the rich interior of WA Frost, created the most beautiful contrast and really helped highlight the moody and editorial wedding theme.

Another highlight was the stationery by Thoughtfully Yours. The wedding invitation suites truly set the tone for the whole day. The deep, romantic colors, coupled with elegant fonts, were perfect for a Catholic wedding, setting the mood and showing off the couple’s personal style.
