Meaghan & Tyler’s classic spring wedding at Dresser Mansion in April is one of my all time favorites. Between their timeless white rose and baby’s breath florals to her bridesmaids in black dresses to her reception dress change and pearl sleeves to the absolute club vibes of their dance party, it will live rent free in my head for years to come.

So story time…
It was about 2:30pm in the afternoon on a random Friday evening. My phone started ringing with a call from one of my absolute favorite wedding planners and great friend. She NEVER calls me unless we need to talk about something, so this was weird. I knew she was at a wedding because I’d been commenting on her Instagram stories with details from the day which made her calling me even weirder.
I pick up the phone and the first thing Michelle says is.. “Are you shooting a wedding today? Are you free? My photographer for today thought the wedding was TOMORROW and is 4.5 hours away. She won’t make the ceremony.” From the time I got the call to when I arrived at the venue, it was less an hour. I am so incredibly blessed that I could be there to work with a phenomenal vendor lineup at one of favorite Oklahoma venues with some of the most fun bridal party!
And that, my friend, is why hiring the wedding planner or coordinator is invaluable. Not just a friend who is super organized or who loves timelines and organization but a professional planner/coordinator with experience. Why? Because a professional will have a list of their favorite vendors that they work well with and refer to their couples. If something crazy happens, like your wedding photographer having the wrong date!, then they will have people that they can call to come save the day!

Thank the Lord I was free to go photograph their wedding! Meaghan was the SWEETEST human and so unbelievably fun to be around.
