Can you imagine your wedding happening during a tornado warning in Oklahoma? Tulsa’s spring wedding season can be a little bit wild with severe thunderstorms and tornadoes, but the wind and stormy skies created the most phenomenal portraits for this spring wedding at the View at Hillside Barn in Sapulpa.

Maranatha & Cole’s plan A was to have a gorgeous outdoor ceremony with the backdrop of the view from the front of the View at Hillside Barn in Sapulpa. It’s one of my absolute favorite venues in the area. Their ceremony arch is down a slight hill from the venue and overlooks the valley. During the spring when everything is green, it’s simply stunning. Unfortunately, the weather had other plans. Because it was raining, we went to plan B which was to have the ceremony on the paved patio that still has the view but isn’t in the muddy grass. Again, lightning had other plans and we wound up going with plan C which was to have their ceremony inside. Spring weddings in Oklahoma really do need backup options for outdoor ceremonies because you really never know!

We had to move their bubble grand exit up slightly too because of tornadoes in the area, so it was all around an eventful weather wedding day.

Even with all the craziness of the weather, the wind and the stormy skies made for some absolutely EPIC bride and groom photos as well as their wedding party. We were able to do all portraits: bride and groom, bridal party, and family outdoors in the pockets between the rain. Rain is good luck on your wedding day anyway!

Their classic blues and whites for all of their details made for some gorgeous details photos too and the lighting in the venue was absolutely perfect for their wedding day.
